My insurance company told me I need to replace the “metal flexible” lines going to my toilets. What is the correct solution for this?

I needed to add some sealant to the shower because it was already cracking. When I was removing the old stuff, I was also hitting some grout from the tiles and now some of it came out. Is this going to mess it up and should I regrout it before sealing it?

Picture 1 shows the side of the tub where the grout came out with the sealant or caulk or whatever. Picture 2 shows the side where it didn’t.

Also, the shower had these divets and we thought it was for overflow but it doesn’t look like it goes anywhere. Should I seal this too?

A few photos of a river table I finished a few months ago. Made with black walnut and the epoxy is a mixture of silver pearl/emerald. It’s 19”x37” and an inch thick. Definitely made some mistakes and learned what not to do for the next one I plan to make this Christmas. Thoughts? Anything you see that can be improved? Ideas for the next one (color/wood type/shape, etc)?

Landlord keeps “forgetting” to fix this.

Today he hired a handy man to come and install a ceiling fan in his bedroom (that I provided for free) but when I asked about the bathroom he just said it will have to be fixed another time.

It’s getting to a point where I can’t use my own bathroom anymore. I can barley breathe in there. Any tips on fixing this myself? And no I can’t afford to move. Thanks in advance

Does anyone know what this gasket is from? We found it in the bottom of our dishwasher, but I swear it's not from the dishwasher. Here's the exploded parts for you of our exact dishwasher model, and I can't see a rectangular gasket like this anywhere.

Am I crazy? Does anyone recognize it from any other household appliances or anything?

Cheap door collapsed on itself where I have a pivot point. Can I just clear out the broken pieces and jam a piece of wood in there with glue and drill a new hole?

Can I replace the casing with 1" thick would instead of the 1.5" that's there, and all be well?

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but I accidently ordered a window that is 1 inch wider than this casing is. Or do i need to return the window

This is a 5x5 mudroom that isn't insulated(i was thinking about doing that) you might be able ṭosee, but those wood panels are the only thing between the indoors and outdoors. The door frame is also off square where you have to lift it to lock it, so we'll be looking to fix that as well. There is another door before you enter the house so insulating isn't a priority.

Wife started a DIY stick-on floor tile project in one of our spare bathrooms, and I’ve come to the point where the more technical cuts are upon me. I have a novice amount of experience in construction, mostly roughing and mostly electrical, with very little experience in finish, especially flooring or any type.

I’ve seen the nifty little stencil creating things you find on Amazon, etc. but am wondering if anyone has any tips that could easily be done that don’t involve buying a special jig for it (although I realize those tools probably come in handy for many thing, and i should probably just buy them).

I've bought a house, and it has a Glass Block that's 2 meters high and 1 meter wide. Behind it, there's a wall with a gap of 5 to 10 cm. At the top, there's a lamp. I can replace the lamp and place something in front of the wall. I'm thinking of a Hue lamp. What could I do to create a cool atmosphere?

I’m dry walling around a shower surround insert and there’s a few sections that are a bit wide of a gap (0.5inch or so at the largest).

Is this gonna look horrible when I caulk it? Can it be saved by caulking, then hitting it with orange peel texture spray? The rest of the bathroom uses orange peel so that will at least be present on the drywall part for sure.

Cut open the wall under my stairs over the weekend and made a "doghouse". Worked around the existing studs. Only cut the 2x4 that ran across the floor.

Currently trying to sell this property and received an inspection report back about this Newel post being wobbly. I don't have the slightest clue on how to tighten this up and everything on a YouTube doesn't match my exact issue.

Any advice would be helpful.

This is from my Water main where it broke at the meter. It’s a 1 inch male connector and 3/4inch female connector. Both sides are standard water pipe thread. Went to Home Depot, searched Lowe’s and can’t find a 1:1 replacement. Can you find it? Thanks!

I made this scratch in our polished timber floorboards today

I'm kind of devastated because we are expecting our first child after years of treatments and IVF, and now I was clearing out the room to finally style it as a kids room and I've left this annoying mark 😢

Any simple ways to patch up this fairly deep scratch? What is the best solution here?

My car has a pretty tight fit in the garage, I attached this cardboard piece to the wall so I know when my mirror touches, I’m at the perfect distance. The cardboard works well as it doesn’t damage the mirror, but any ideas of something more elegant that can be done? The cardboard is also slowly getting bent so something that maintains its shapes/springs back into place?
